What are systemic enzymes and how do they work? “Systemic” means throughout the entire system. Systemic enzymes work throughout the body, not just in the digestion process. An enzyme itself is a bio-catalyst, or something that makes something else work faster or better. Besides aiding the digestion process, here are three ways systemic enzymes work in the body.
- Inflammation – Systemic enzymes are a first line of defense against inflammation. Your body needs some inflammation, but the problem is sometimes inflammation can be self-perpetuating. It can create an irritation in the body which causes the body to produce CICs (Circulating Immune Complex). CICs cause pain, redness, swelling, all marks of inflammation. Systemic enzymes are capable of targeting the bad CICs and in so doing, reducing inflammation and associated pain.
- Fibrosis – System enzymes consume fibrosis, or scar tissue. Our bodies production of enzymes depletes over time, starting at around age 27. By replacing these lost enzymes, we can control and reduce the amount of scar tissue we have in our bodies.
- Blood Pollution – Life is in the blood, but the blood also contains pollutants from discarded materials from our cells and organs. These pollutants can cause the blood to be stickier than it should be, increasing the risk of blood clots, strokes and heart attacks.
